How to manage the things that no one talks about in salary negotiations: your emotional response to fear, shame and rejection.

What to do when you’re afraid to ask, too ashamed to ask again after you get a “no” and control your emotions when things go wrong.

A Framework and playbook to make your career conversations and salary negotiations a success!

  • It doesn’t matter how good you are at your job if you don’t know how to advocate for yourself to advance your career.

  • Most people get higher salaries and get promoted because they ASK.

  • If you don’t know how to ask for what you want, you run the risk of getting stuck where you are, feeling underappreciated and unrecognized.

  • This often leads to anger (at yourself and/or your employer!), frustration and hopelessness.

But that won’t happen to you.

This framework and playbook gives you the strategy you need AND the support to overcome fear, self-doubt and anxiety about ASKING.

If you’re not sure what to say and how to say it, this is for YOU. This is the straight-talking strategy you need to plan for a successful conversation with your boss or the hiring manager.

You get TWO strategies: one for your current job and one for negotiating with a hiring manger at a new job. Use one today and save the other for when you need it.

If you’ve ever been afraid that you’ll be punished for asking, told that you’re too bossy or aggressive, or if you’re paralyzed by the thought of getting a “no,” this is for YOU.

You can manage the emotional side of negotiating, mastering your reactions so you stay cool, calm and collected on the outside, even when you’re freaking out on the inside!

Discover How To Increase Your Confidence So You Can Have That Conversation With Your Boss TOMORROW And Get The Raise You Deserve…

You CAN get paid what you’re worth, advance your career and re-open the discussion from a past “no”

You can be like Kathlena, who:

  • was terrified to ask for more than the salary she was offered because she was inexperienced in the role and felt like she should just be grateful for the opportunity,
  • after using my script, she negotiated a $10k salary increase, a signing bonus AND a laptop.

…Or Sara B. from California, who:

  • had NEVER negotiated her salary, even though she’s mid-career. She had always taken what she was offered.
  • asked for ande got 5% more than she was offered…just by having a well-planned and thoughtfully delivered conversation.

…Or Tabitha N., a live-in caregiver, who:

  • asked for and got a 20% pay raise
  • PLUS a £5000 retainer bonus from her current employer!

…Or Ilene S., a Communications Consultant, who:

  • had a long-term client who was paying far below her current rate.
  • wasn’t sure what to say to raise her rates and was starting to resent doing work at such a low rate.
  • asked for and got a 50% increase.

I never got a pay raise without asking for it!

You won’t get a raise because your resume has all the right skills that match up perfectly with the job description.

That is NOT how most people get a higher salary.

I know because I’ve been there.

I started my professional career in 1994 with a salary of $26k.

Within five years, I had moved from an entry level job of Production Assistant to a Project Manager to a Production Department Manager with a team of 12.

I increased my salary  to over $100k, but every increase in my job title and salary came because I negotiated it.

The accolades were always there, my boss was generous with his praise.

But I was working long hours to prove myself and watching as other, less qualified people got promoted before me.

At one point, I got so frustrated that I almost cried in front of my boss.

I just didn’t know what to do.

Working harder wasn’t working.

I finally learned that if I wanted to advance my career and make more money, I would have to find a way to ask for it, justify it and feel like I DESERVED IT!

I learned some simple techniques to change the way I was talking to my boss about my salary and my job.

And how to recover from a “no” when times were rough in the economy or the money wasn’t there (like your boss says, “We don’t have the budget now…”).

Not only to recover from my own feelings of shame and rejection, but to keep the door open so I could have the conversation again when things picked up again.

Later in my career, when I was pregnant with my son, I negotiated to take all the parts of my job that I loved and give up the things I didn’t. I asked for and got  a 30-hpur work week so I could spend time at home with my son.

And when I was ready to come back full time, I negotiated a schedule and pay rate that  matched what I wanted. I didn’t get it all up front every time. But I know how to keep the door open for mid-year meetings with goals that match up to increases and/or bonuses.

You can too!

There’s nothing magic about these conversations, you just need to know the STRATEGY: what to say and how to say it and the SUPPORT: manage the emotional side of negotiating, mastering your reactions so you stay cool, calm and collected on the outside, even when you’re freaking out on the inside!

“I felt Confident after learning the skills”
Before I used these skills, I hoped that I would be recognized for the work I was doing. Afterwards, I made a proposal to the new hiring manager to get the job, the title and the pay raise!

The class shifted my view on how I was going to approach the situation at work.

I got insights that I wouldn’t have been able to come up with on my own.

I was able to be calm in the moment, feel confident, able to be curious and listen…these were all things that helped me go into multiple situations and meetings where I was negotiating or trying to figure out the lay of the land. I felt confident after learning the skills.
